How to Copy Photos from External Drive

I recently purchased a Mac Mini 2 to replace a late-2009 iMac 21. I kept all of my photos on an external drive connected to the iMac since the internal drive was near capacity. Now I want to copy those photos to Photos on the internal drive of the new Mac Mini 2. What would be the best way to do this? (BTW, I use Carbon Copy Cloner as my backup software).

Thank you so much for your help.

If they are in a previous Photos Library, then Importing the the Library from the external drive should maintain their original data base.

If they are just randomly stored on the external drive, then they should and will Import randomly by image date, name and/or number.
