Hey Stupidapplee,

It sounds like you have already performed most of the steps in If you see No Service, Searching, or SOS on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Just to make sure you cover all your bases, we recommend that you check for a carrier settings update and connect with your carrier to confirm expected coverage and any potential issues with your account or network.

Check for a Carrier Settings update
To manually check for and install a carrier settings update:
1. Make sure that your device is connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network.
2. Tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, you'll see an option to update your carrier settings.
3. To see the version of carrier settings on your device, tap Settings > General > About and look next to Carrier.
If you insert a new SIM card into your iPhone or iPad, you need to download the carrier settings for your new carrier.

If you're still experiencing issues with your cellular data connection and loading content, connect with Apple Support over the phone. They will typically have the best tools and resources to troubleshoot an issue with one of their products. You can set up a call from the Get Support portal in most countries.

Kindest Regards.

Just went through this same issue on my i15 Pro Max and was able to resolve with some help from the carrier.

The issue appears to be the connection to the eSIM file being corrupted.

We went through the process of installing/reinstalling an eSIM several times, the carrier even issued a new eSim, the same continued to occur with no resolution. We finally spoke with a second tech support person at the phone company who suggested an additional step, instead of "resetting the eSim, he had us DELETE ALL eSIMS.

(Keep in mind that i15 Pro Max has "Dual eSims", so you can have more than one active eSIM installed).

Once we DELETED ALL eSims and the carrier issued a new eSim, things instantly began to work as they should.

Hope this helps someone.

Regards,

Gary

Final confirmation that a re-provision of my eSIM by Verizon (via chat support on Verizon app right from the comfort of my home) did in fact provide a major enhancement to cellular calls in a rural environment where I was having catastrophic failure on the new iPhone 15 Pro. It doesn't sound like it's helping everyone but it did for me so I recommend at least doing that before trying to do a return.

Same Here, iPhone 15 Pro. This fix worked for me: I called my carrier, Verizon. They checked the "back end" of my service plan and found a Data Throttle attached to my account. They removed it right away, and didn't know how it got there. Restarted my phone. Cellular Data is working at the moment. How are we supposed to know this crap??

I’ve been having issues with my iPhone 15 pro max pretty much from day one. I’m with Vodafone and was getting dropped connections and poor reception with phone only using 3G in strong 5G areas on occasions. I’ve spent last four weeks trying to resolve it with different methods including the network resets blah blah. The eSIM swap definitely changed the symptoms but still poorer connectivity.

yesterday I went to Trafford Apple and they reported the RF band had failed their testing equipment. I bought the phone from John Lewis and they are refusing to give me a new phone and want to repair it. They’ve quoted 20 days but said should be less.

im just peeved that a phone that’s barely four weeks old is getting treated like a device that’s 14 months old. I’m in the process of fighting it as ive also got a bizarre charging issues but spent that long in Apple Store that I came away with at least one issue resolved.

The same happened with my iPhone 15 pro max, I contacted my service provider and they told me to reset network settings, this will resolve the problem. Every time I left my WiFi range I had to repeat the procedure. During this headache I’ve been sent 3 new sims, which has no effect, 3 days ago I had the idea that maybe I need to update the iOS in settings, updated to iOS 17. After I did this the phone works perfectly. I also had the problem of re entering my WiFi password every time I got home, that has also been fixed after the update.

I think Opolopos solution works. My iPhone will suddenly not connect to the internet and when I tried to refresh the network it’ll just say no network. I had to sometimes restart the phone. I believe I’ve solved this now. I did a reset to all settings first

settings >General> transfer or reset iPhone > reset> reset all settings

after this I deleted all previously installed eSIM card in my phone

Settings > cellular >sims > delete all sims not in use

now get your mobile network to install a new eSIM on your device and the problem should be solved. You do not need to continue using the new eSIM to still have network.

I believe this problem affects users that restore backups to a new device. It may be copying an old network setting from previous backup which is affecting mobile network service. It’s been 48 hours since I’ve had no network issues. I believe installing a new eSIM overwrites this. Do give it a try and let others know if this worked for you. It’s definitely working for me now.

I would highly recommend calling your carrier to have them issue a new eSIM. But before the issue the new eSIM, go into settings > carrier > delete eSIM

they will issue a new eSIM, run the activate now under carrier once they tell you to do so. Then reboot your device and make a phone call.

you may want to reset your network settings too. When restoring from a backup from phone to phone and transfer from phone to phone it’s possible to move the “old” carrier settings that will 100% cause the iPhone 15 cell radio to incorrectly perform.

my phone has been completely fine since I did these things.

ill explain how I fixed my issue and might be the same for some of you.

for me, no trouble shooting vids on YouTube helped.

I reset cellular, toggled cellular in off to Apple Music, etc. I was about to do a full reset.

but then I noticed my Nord VPN which I don’t log into as I just got the phone was repeatedly trying to connect on cellular without a password.

I removed Nord VPN and everything works now. I reinstalled Nord with password and no issues now.

just an FYI to those of you with VPNs may have a similar issue.

So my iPhone 15 pro max works beautifully now, after two months of absolute headache. I’m in the UK not the US but I’m hoping this will be the same fix regardless. My data was constantly loosing service and would not reconnect automatically, I had to use airplane mode on/off to reconnect.

i spent the whole of January speaking with my provider (o2) and after trying new SIM cards and them sending my phone the correct settings, and ‘apparently’ having had an engineer look into my issues I was told it now looks like it’s the phone itself, my newly bought 15PM.

There starts my numerous trips to Apple, firstly after an in-house text they changed the main module on my phone. I’m not too technically minded but was told it’s basically going to make it a new phone.

This did not work.

Then, after showing the Apple staff how, after being connected to their store WiFi and then walking out of the store I had no service, they gave me a completely new device.

Still the same issue.

I then bought an iPhone 14PM from Amazon thinking that the old device would be fine. No luck, that went back.

At the end of my tether now I bought an eSIM which was with another provider EE. This worked faultlessly.

so I had my answer, it was NOT the phone after all, it was my provider, o2 all along.

i called o2 and told them I was leaving as they were not providing a ‘fit for use’ service.

after speaking with various managers I was all set to leave and then, out of the blue received a text from o2 engineer dept telling me the problem had been fixed and to restart my phone for it now to be working properly.

i was just about to terminate my contract having been with o2 since 1998 (originally BT cellnet) so I did this last attempt, and it worked.

after what seemed to be so long and with me trying all possible routes it turned out to be a provider connection issue.

i am in the process of discussing compensation with my provider seeing as it was their fault all along.

Apple were great all along my journey and could see my fustration.

i did take out Apple+ care and they were willing to take the phone back for a full refund if things didn’t work themselves out. I cannot fault their service.

i hope this may help if you have the same data not automatically reconnecting itself issues.

I want to submit an update to my complaints: it seems that my issue has been the AT&T network all along. I was on there through Boost Infinite (who insisted that AT&T was the best choice in my area). However, I did some research and a Boost Mobile retailer told me that T-Mobile is the best network in the area of North Carolina. After having a useless phone at work for the last two nights due to the WiFi being down, I decided to switch to T-Mobile last night. Now, I have superb network access with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. So, it could be more of the networks causing these problems rather than the phones themselve.

Same issues. iPhone 15 Pro, Verizon. Works fine, then suddenly goes into SOS, complains of eSIM issues, etc. I have figured out a way to reproduce the problem on demand: make heavy use of data transfer. I stream a video and download a large spreadsheet from OneDrive at the same time, and boom, I can force a failure every time. My theory is it's a phone problem. I think the heavy download volume and/or CPU load cause the phone to heat up, resulting in a physical issue with the antenna. Something to do with the way the antenna is bonded to the case, perhaps? Anyone else able to reproduce the issue this way? BTW, Apple Store did the same runaround y'all got--and now my phone has been sent out for service. It had better not come back to me labeled "no problem," because I can reproduce the issue at will and won't take no for an answer.
