Hello,

‘If you have the iPhone SE 2nd or 3rd generation, the Home Button doesn’t physically press. It’s a solid state button that is what we call a haptic Home Button. When it’s pressed, the device will vibrate in response instead of a physical click. The device will not make a vibration when powered off.

If your Home Button isn’t working correctly, I suggest you contact Apple Support for further help.

Sincerely,

Captain

One of the things that can make this happen is if you are using a 3rd party charging adaptor or at least one that does not have at least 30w. After 3 visits to the Genius Bar in one week plus several Live Chats with Apple, it was finally determined that there was nothing wrong with the Touch ID function. It was directly caused by using the wrong charger. The cord itself is fine.

Hope this helps.
