US/Can SIM cards

6 months in Florida. Needing data, text and talk within USand to Canada. Don’t want Canadian family to be charged when calling me. Do I give up my cell number? If I am able to port my number, is it wifi only for talk?

What are your recommendations for a reasonable solution?

Can’t use my American iPhone 14 Pro Max in Bali I’m in Bali with my new iPhone 14 ProMax without a SIM slot on the phone. E-SIM is not an option because it does give you a local phone number, I need more than just data! A large number of apps require a local phone number, plus texting. What do I do? I don’t want to buy a new phone here after spending close to $2,000 on my iphone…
