Safari stops responding on Guardian website only

Safari keeps becoming unresponsive on the Guardian newspaper website, all other websites are fine. It will load the page initially but then won't respond, and get the message that page has stopped responding. Tried clearing cache and restarting Mac and quitting and relaunching Safari. By contrast, Guardian website is fine on iPad when using Safari. Using MacBook Air with Ventura 13.5.1. Any hints?
