two step verification code but I don’t have that phone

Restore phone to factory settings however it’s now asking for two step verification but I don’t have that phone

iPhone 14 Plus, iOS 16

Here to help.


Well - that seems easy! Just choose: "can not use this number/phone""no access to this device" or something like that.


Instead, a text message will be sent to the mobile number!


If you also have no access to the mobile phone number, choose that. "Can not use this number".


Keep in mind that the account restore process might take more time this way!

Troubleshooting Verification Log ins:

You need to add a trusted device to get authentication codes.


Troubleshooting Two-Factor Authentication:

Set it up correctly: Manage Two-Factor Authentication for your Apple ID from iPad - Apple Support



Verify your Trusted Numbers:

  1. Go Here: How to Get Verification Code on New Phone after I Erased all my Stuff from Old Phone - Apple Support
  2. Scroll to: Add or remove a trusted phone number
  3. As it Reads: "If you can’t access any trusted devices when setting up a new device for two-factor authentication, tap 'Didn’t get a verification code?' on the new device, then choose one of your trusted phone numbers to receive the verification code."
