Apple TV Assessibility Shortcuts will not stop

When I turned on my Apple TV this morning, the Accessibility Shortcuts window came on. I can not find a way to turn it off. It is not responsive to the Apple TV remote or to voice commands.

I want it to go away. I do not need it.

Accessibility shortcuts keeps showing up on Samsung TV -- Apple TV remote was culprit

After near losing my mind and trying a ridiculous number of things to get the accessibility shortcuts to stop showing up on my Samsung TV screen, I wanted to share what solved the issue. My 4K apple TV remote was the culprit. Even just putting my hand near the apple TV remote (not touching it) made my Samsung TV display the mute symbol and open the acccessibility menu. Resetting my remote solved the issue. I hope this helps someone!

  1. Press and hold the TV/Control Center button  and the Volume Down button  at the same time. Hold the buttons down for about 5 seconds, or until the status light on Apple TV turns off then turns on again.
  2. Release the buttons, then wait 5–10 seconds. A Connection Lost notification will appear on your TV screen.
  3. After your remote restarts, a Connected notification will appear on your TV screen.

Hi sfb71,

welcome to the Apple (user-to-user) Community!

Re: "Accessibility Shortcuts window came on. I can not find a way to turn it off.

We do not know which tvOS version is installed on your Apple TV in order to help:

(Am no expert in this area: You may just need to click on the window to highlight it, and press "escape" ?)

Else:

Wondering if Apple Support's online Apple TV User Guide may help at all (link below):

There is a "Table of Contents" link on the "welcome" page that opens from the link below:

If you are not using tvOS 17 (which is the newest version):

For accurate info.: You can choose your Apple TV's tvOS version at the top of articles:
