I received notification that my desktop Apple Computer will no longer be functional December 2023, is there upgrades that I can download to maintain the viability of my existing computer
I have never heard of Apple sending such a notice and I've been using Macs since about 1990 and helping here for over 20 years. I feel certain this is a scam.
If the computer is running macOS 10.7 "Lion" or higher, the model and sub-model that Carol mentions are quickly available by doing "About this Mac..." from your Apple menu. Example for a iMac running macOS 10.13 High Sierra:

Please tell us which computer you have and what its current OS is? Also, who sent the notice? Was it in an email? With this information, one of our volunteer Mac experts should be able to advise you.
