unable to edit in pages. Space bar suddenly stops spacing, and curser jumps to different location

In pages, I keep ending up fighting with a "yellow" box around the document, and I can't edit a document if I walk away from it for a few moments. This also happens in mail drafts and sometimes just in google search bar...my words string together, it appears the space bar is not working. then, my curser keeps jumping to another location. this is a MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2021) running Monteray 12.6.7.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Hi heidi63,

If sometimes your keyboard doesn't work as expected, and seems like it is jumping around, could you have turned on an accessibility feature turned on? Go to System Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard and see if Full Keyboard Access is turned on. When this is turned on, it allows the computer to be controlled with the keyboard. Read more about it here Navigate your Mac using Full Keyboard Access.

Hope this helps.

Take care.
