While typing cursor skips, to another place on the page midstream, resulting in text input in the wrong places, or highlighting passages which are deleted as I continue to type unawares.

Do you know of a solution for this persistent issue (which I have experienced for ages with two MacBook Pro laptops of different vintages and operating systems)?

I do not know that it is limited to use of the Pages program, though it certainly happens frequently with Pages and is exceedingly problematic.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.7

Have you run Disk Utility's Disk First Aid on all connected drives?

In Disk Utility>View, select Show all Devices, highlight the top left entry.

Run Disk First Aid on all items in the left panel, from top down.

Are you running any VPN, Anti-Virus, or Cleaning apps?
