I bought a new 14 pro max, and my warranty says :expires on 18 july 2024. Today is the date 22.10.2023 This means the iphone is used or what? I didn’t buy it on apple or authorized reseller. Help me to understand this issue.

No, that’s not what I have said. The phone could be un-used, but as it was purchased from an unauthorized dealer, the warranty will not be considered as 1 year from the date you purchased it. The warranty started when your dealer purchased the device.

This usually indicates that the device was not purchased from Apple or an authorized dealer. If this is the case you would need to ask them.
The seller says this has happened because the phone was checked out from apple’s shop…?
The seller is obviously not an Apple authorized dealer. The warranty started on the first day of initial purchase. In this case that would have been July 19, 2023.
This mean that the phone is used before?
