Apple Watch calories not tracking accurately during exercise

Recently got the new iphone15 pro and updated to latest phone and watch software. Suddenly, Apple Watch Ultra is no longer tracking calories accurately during a run, and seems to be treating it like a walk of the same duration. Heart rate seems accurate, all my health details are accurate, but instead of 400 calories burned, since last week it is now at circa 150 calories. Have unpaired and repaired, switched on and off. Not sure of any other fixes. The GPS is also slightly off and missing say 0.5k of a 5k run.

Thanks - they were able to fix the problem. The issue was that while height and weight were correct on the phone and in the fitness app, they were not correct in the watch health app. I thought they were all automatically synced. Obviously a bug on update but has been manually resolved now.

Hi there VonHon,

You'll want to start by making sure your iPhone and Apple Watch are both running the latest software versions, which are iOS 17.0.3 and watchOS 10.2. If needed, learn how to update using the links below:

Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Update your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Next, try calibrating your Apple Watch to see if that helps with the discrepancy you're seeing: Calibrate your Apple Watch for improved Workout and Activity accuracy - Apple Support

Take care.

Hey VonHon,

You mention having the Apple Watch Ultra. If it's the Apple Watch Ultra 1, you are fully updated with 10.0.1 since the 10.0.2 update is for a Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2. Those details can be found here: Apple security releases - Apple Support

In addition to calibrating, if you haven't already, restart both your Apple Watch and paired iPhone to see if fresh connections help:

Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

Restart your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Take care!

Thanks Sparks0829. I had updated to the latest software on both but the latest watch software I can see is 10.0.1. Is there a latest software that the app is not showing?

Will look at the calibration but it was working on Monday and then stopped working so not sure that will fix the significant discrepancy.

I appreciate your suggestions/help.
