Icloud HEIC files a pain

My iCloud recently started downloading files in HEIC format instead of JPG. I have found a converter but it is a pain to have to go to a converter every time I want to download photos. When I am done I have a ZIP file and a HEIC file and then at last a JPG file. This is using unnecessary space on my computer. I use iCloud on my PC. Is there any way to set iCloud to save in JPG?

Hi pslane,

They're downloading in that format because that's the format they're being sent to iCloud on. You'd need to change the setting on your iPhone to not use HEIC to prevent that from happening in the future. The only way to get them to JPG is what you're doing now; manually converting them from HEIC to JPG.
