Your account is locked
When I turn on my Mac mini, I get a message that my account is locked. Try again in 2 hours. My computer is not password protected.

Your user password, is the same one that is required for System Preferences/Settings.

I would add that all Macs ARE password protected and one is always required at startup. You can elect to have the Mac automatically enter it for you, however.
