What iPhones can use the iPhone 8plus SIM card from my iPhone 8plus?

I need to put the SIM card from my iPhone 8 into a more recent iPhone- which ones will accommodate the same SIM card?

iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 16

All iPhones supports physical nano SIM cards except model 14 or 15 manufatured for US market (they can just use eSIMs).

Wouldn't it make more sense to select an iPhone that met other needs – then ask your carrier to replace the SIM with a different kind of physical SIM, or with an eSIM, if necessary?
