There is no other option. Your iPhone will need to be erased using either of these methods:
If you see an iPhone or iPad unavailable message or Security Lockout screen - Apple Support
If you forgot your iPhone passcode - Apple Support
As long as you have backed up your iPhone, no data will be lost. If you have not backed up, then you will only be able to recover data that was synced using iCloud.
