Spotlight Finder ⌘ + F

When using my Macbook Pro, every time I type ⌘F I've always gotten a finder/text box that allows me to type specific words or text i'm looking for within a web page or document. But now, for some reason, when i type ⌘F, i simply see a small icon appear in the Chrome search bar but I don't see a text box which shows me the word(s) i'm typing & searching for. Does anyone know why? How do i get my text finder box to re-appear on screen?
