NPR starts playing sometimes when I set the iPhone down— how can I stop this????

I seem to recall an iOS change some time ago which included a gesture (maybe a back tap?) which would cause NPR headlines to play. I thought that sounded great at the time, although I forgot exactly what you had to do to get it— and was getting news so many other way that it no longer seemed important.

In the last few months, though, I sometimes set my phone down on a hard surface and NPR starts playing, and I finally figured out that I have to get into the Podcasts app to turn it off, as it seems impossible from the lock screen! This is infuriating. How can I turn off this “feature”?
