Ending a call if you’re not on the call screen is anything but easy

If I answer a call from the top drop down incoming call ribbon rather than tapping on the incoming call first to answer, or if I switch to another app while on a call with ios17.0.3 there is no easy way to hang up leaving the other person frustrated if they are driving an unable to touch their phone to hang up for me. Leaving me shouting “I can’t hang up I’m sorry!”. I used to have a small green call bubble in the top left corner I could click on to return to the call, but now it was just an orange dot to indicate my mic was active. I know I probably need to click on the incoming call first and not multitask. But this is a step backwards. Annoying and not in any way convenient. I have a iPhone 15 pro max with latest software. Is the call now in the dynamic notch? I have no idea yet, I will have to pay attention next time. But it wasn’t obvious.

I will also note at this time my phone is on do not disturb and maintained the DND icon next to the clock instead of the active call green bubble that used to appear there.
