The speakers most likely have failed and need to be replaced. Test with headphones or external speakers to make sure they sound clear. I have found that the speakers on the 2013-2015 models do not age well and have deteriorated unusually quickly. In fact, I have never seen so many speakers fail like this for any other laptop models in my over 20 years of supporting my organization's computers.
The 2015 model is now considered "Vintage" so official Apple repairs are only available as long as the necessary part is still available. If an official repair is no longer available, then I am not aware of any place to purchase new/unused speakers.....purchasing used speakers would mean they are just as likely to fail at any time due to the same aging deterioration.

Thank you for the reply.
With Speakers Not Seen, Reinstall the macOS:
The drivers likely went missing somehow. So, try the following, and if the first two don’t work, then you should perform the third option: Reinstall the macOS.
What else to do:
Try the following, in the order provided...
[Hold Down: shift key, upon boot], In Safe Mode, Login Items do not run at login, certain preferences are set aside, and damaged system files are then reset. So, once booted in to Safe Mode, wait for 30 seconds, and then boot up normally, attempting another sync.
What happens when you create a new administrator user, and log int it? Do you still get this error? If not, then it is likely an error with the current user. If so, then it is likely an error with your macOS.
as a last resort...

Important: First, Back Up your Mac:
Create a Time Machine backup of your Mac, so that you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Take this as a learning experience, knowing to always create a backup of your Mac, prior to making any major changes to it (i.e. update installation).
So for option A. In the audio area I have Built in microphone, built in output and teams microphone. But not specifically the macbook pro speakers option.
