What is a eSIM used for?
Can you use your original sim and phone number and a eSIM with a different number on your phone at the same time?

About eSIM on iPhone - Apple Support
If you have an iPhone XR, XS, XS Max, or any iPhone 11, you can only use the physical SIM or the eSIM, but you cannot use both.
