Photoshop Elements 2022 not working properly after upgrade to Sonoma

Hi everyone, does anyone know anything about this issue ? The colour picker tool is not working , only displays one colour and is completely unusable. On photoshop forums they are blaming apple's upgrade, has anyone got any idea what to do ?

Sonoma 14.1 was just released. Install that and try PSE 2022 again.

I just installed the update and now QuickBooks 2019 seems to be working. Under the initial release of Sonoma, it crashed constantly.

It's entirely possible changes Apple made in the new OS is causing PSE 2022 to function incorrectly.

However, it's not Apple's responsibility to make sure thousands of apps that worked in the previous OS work in the new one. They simply could not possibly test them all. That's why they put out alpha, then beta versions of the upcoming OS to all developers. Along with notes of changes to APIs. All of this so developers can have necessary updates ready for users when the new OS is officially released.

And Adobe may never provide a fix for PSE 2022. With versions 2023 and 2024 out, they consider this $80 version of PS a throw away item that does not get very lengthy support. They expect you to upgrade at least every other version if you want to also be able to use the latest OS.

If they do fix it, great. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

Quark XPress is even worse. A new outfit bought them out two or three years ago and upended everything. They used to keep older versions going for three to four years. Still seemed short considering the initial cost, though the upgrades were relatively inexpensive at $150.

The new owners changed the entire model. They called it a subscription, but hey!, you could keep using the last one you paid for forever! No deactivation if you stop paying like the Adobe CC suite. What they didn't tell anyone at first was the pricing went up on everything, and the chances your last upgrade would work beyond two OS upgrades was slim. It practically forces users to pay for higher priced upgrades at least every two years. Which you have to do if you plan on being able to share files with your clients.
