Salutations Jensern01,
Welcome aboard the Apple Support Community, we'd be happy to help you work on this issue.
Have you tried bypassing your HDMI switch and simply connecting the Apple TV directly to your television? If not, then we want to recommend that you give that a shot and see if you experience the same issue. If the issue doesn't persist, then it is likely that something with the HDMI switch is interfering and it may not be compatible in the way you're using it right now.
Another possibility would be if you're seeing an HDCP error when playing that content. In certain cases, with certain HDMI cables or adapters, this can happen as described below. The solution here would be to replace that HDMI switch with a compatible one or by connecting the cable directly as we mentioned before.
If an alert says that an HDCP-compatible device is required
Your content might not be compatible with your adapter. Movies, TV shows, and certain streaming video apps require High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). If you try to play these movies, shows, and streaming videos using a non-HDCP digital connection—like the Apple VGA Adapter—an alert will ask for an HDCP-compatible device.
That info can be found here: Get Help with Apple Digital AV Adapters for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
We hope this does the trick for you!
Cheers.
