Apple Music won’t allow me to play any explicit songs

I signed up for Apple Music today and it will not let me play any songs that have an E next to it. But other songs that are not explicit do not have this issue.

You have a couple of options:

  • Change it on the website

Set or change parental controls in Apple Music on the web - Apple Support

  • Change it on the iPhone by going to Settings > Screen Time > Contents & Privacy Restrictions > Content Restrictions > Music, Podcasts, News & Workouts > Explicit.

Note: These will only work if your iPhone is not part of a Family Plan having Parental Controls set by the Family Organizer.
