Click not working on Google Chrome app on Macbook

Hello, I recently started having trouble with clicking while navigating Google Chrome on the Google Chrome application on my Macbook Air OS Big Sur Version 11.6.5.

The click initially works, then starts bugging, not working occasionally (having to wait with my cursor on a link or field or anything I should be able to click on, going on and off the zone where I should click, clicking a couple of times, until it works). My cursor always works and moves smoothly, but eventually, clicking function bugs completely and I become unable to click on anything in the open Google Chrome window, and even unable to switch between tabs in the open window. I therefore have to close the Google Chrome app, quit it and relaunch it. It works again initially, then the cycle restarts.

It seems like the issue is not with the trackpad, and it seems specific to Google Chrome app, as I haven't been experiencing it on the desktop or other apps.

I tried deleting the app and downloading it again, but it didn't help and the issue came back.

With this comment apparently solving things for most people:

Exactly the same issue and, the issue is only when it is in full screen on the mac. If I take it out of fullscreen then the buttons respond as expected.

This solution worked for me too:

Enable gpu rasterization and everything will work again chrome://flags/#enable-gpu-rasterization

I'm having the exact same problem. I tried everything, including deleting and reinstalling Chrome, removing all extensions, etc. but nothing worked.

The funny thing is that if you use Chrome without full screen, everything works fine.

Not sure if the problem is coming from Chrome or Apple :(

I was having the same problem but enabled rasterization and worked!

chrome://flags/#enable-gpu-rasterization

I also have the exact problem. As for me, it could be caused with system inputs, I mean the HTML5 inputs, for example, select, input, button etc. But it also could be caused with JavaScript issues.

I also agree with gregoryandyou that if use chrome without full screen - everything works fine.

It's started to occur when I updated on the last version of Mac OS (Sonoma) and the last version of the Chrome

Has this issue been fixed? It happens when you're in full screen mode in chrome. And when you do split screen with chrome and another application.

This is also happening with me. I've been to the Genius Bar twice and they've run diagnostics and sent it for repair. It's still happening, which leads me to believe this may be a Chrome issue. But not entirely sure. It even happens when I hook up the magic mouse. It's absolutely impossible to work on my laptop when the mouse stops working like this and all of my work is done online.
