Bought a 2017 Forester that is a great car BUT -No Carplay 😟 Is there a fix for this or do I have to replace the radio?

I talked to my local Subaru dealer in reference to my 2017 Forester & found out: NO Apple Carplay until 2018, was told: buy a newer car, buy an aftermarket radio or use my Maps on my iPhone- or I can continue to use the unacceptable Subaru Navigation system.

Thank you all that offered help and suggestions for no carplay in my ‘17 forester. I talked to my Subaru dealership and was told Carplay didn’t start in my car until 2018-missed it by that much ☹️. Looks an aftermarket radio is $800 plus installation so…. i’ll just listen to my iPhone maps and forget about the Subaru navigation. Thanks again.-James
Well, Subaru is not likely going to offer a retroactive option for a 2017 vehicle, but you could ask them about this.
You best check with your car manufacturer.
Most car manufacturers did not implement it until abou 2018, some later.
If the seller told you otherwise, you need to have a conversation with that person if this is a deal-breaker.
