Error occurs when trying to update my iTunes to Version 12.13 for Windows

I have a Microsoft 10 (64-bit) PC running iTunes Version 12.10.11.2. When I go to Help --> Check for Updates, I get an iTunes info box that says, "A new version of iTunes (12.13) is available. Would you like to download it now?

I believe there is no such version of iTunes. When I download it and try to install it, I get error messages.

Is anybody else running into this problem?

This link will always get the current non-Microsoft Store version of iTunes and maybe useful for those needing to switch:

The link you posted was what I used to download and install my current version of iTunes, 12.10.11.2. By the way, the Apple store lists iTunes 12.10.11 as the latest version available, so I have no clue why the reference to version 12.13 pops up.

I've tried to use the Microsoft Store version of iTunes, but I could never get it to work correctly.

Thanks for your help.

The advice from others about updating via Microsoft Store, without deleting previous version works. I was having an issue with my music library and encountered many issues uninstalling and reinstalling due to 12.13 update (5 hour session and another 3 hour session with apple support).

Another method is to use the Apple Software Updater on Microsoft computer and it should pick up the change.

Due to the fault finding with Apple support I was told to delete app. Many issues going to Microsoft Store in first instance (faulty installs). In the end, from Apple website, I installed linked version 12.10.11 (64 bit). It installs and gives a message 'Itunes library.itl can't be loaded because it was created by a later version'. I then used Apple software updater, which presented the new version 12.13 and Itunes update worked.

On my computer, I right clicked Itunes and 'run as administrator'.
