Saving Bounce Photo as Video
The “save to video” option doesn’t appear on bounce photos. Is there a way to save it as a video? I don’t want to stitch it to other videos or live photos, just text it to friends as is.

Hi ArtyCakes,
I also couldn’t find a way to save the bounce photo as a video, but I found a workaround. You can record your screen and crop the video afterwards. The resolution is not as good as it could be, but bearable to share it in a messenger or insta. 🙌

Hi, i’ve been having this problem as well but i found a workaround. You can download the edited live photos as videos by clicking share > copy icloud link > open link on browser > download pic> it will download the pic and the video format. Then u can save to downloads/file and open it and share to other apps. Hope this helps😊
Hello ArtyCakes,
It is unclear which app you're using to view and attempt to save this bounce photo. With that said, this covers how to create them: Take and edit Live Photos Here are some key highlights, which may explain why you're unable to save the bounce photo:
If you edit your Live Photo in a third-party app, you might lose any Live Photo effects that you've applied.
* You can take Live Photos on iPhone 6s and later, iPad (5th generation) and later, iPad Air (3rd generation) and later, iPad mini (5th generation) and later, and iPad Pro models from 2016 or later.
If you are using one of the devices listed, you shouldn't have an issue saving the photo. However, if you are using an earlier model, they may not support the feature.
Let us know if this helps out.
Cheers.
Hello ArtyCakes,
Thanks for further clarifying that behavior. If you choose to share a Live Photo that has an applied effect through Messages, are you then able to send it as a gif?
Should you still be unable to save to video or share the bounce or loop directly, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support: Apple Support They'll be in the best position to look into this further.
Take care.
Hey there ArtyCakes,
At this point, you'll want to reach out to Apple directly: Get Support
Have a good one!
Hi destiny241,
I’m on an iPhone 11 and just using the camera and photos app to take and manipulate photos. I generally take Live Photos, and know how to save them as videos. I can then post those three second videos on social media or text them to friends no problem. When I switch the Live Photo to bounce or loop, however, I can’t save it as a bounce video and post the bounce video to social media, or text a friend the bounce video. Do you know how to save a Live Photo in bounce or loop mode in a way that allows me to send it elsewhere as a short video? What I want to do is create my own little gifs I guess.
Hi chuckbl,
I don’t seem to be able to share a Live Photo with an applied effect. This is exactly what I’m trying to do and what my question is referring to. It’s frustrating.
