Launchpad has lost its background in Sonoma.

I make regular use of Launchpad. After the Sonoma upgrade (14.0), It has completely lost its background so that the app icons appear in front of whatever's open on the screen behind it, making those icons hard to see against the confusion. Also, it appears that the search field for an app has disappeared from the top of the Launchpad page too. I even tried command-F to see if it would appear. Nope. Makes it a real trudge through all of those icons if you're looking to open an app with it.

Thanks, dialabrain. That seems to have fixed it… FOR NOW. I'm looking forward to the next updates to Sonoma. So full of bugs. For the life of me, I have no idea why my system settings changed TO automatic upgrades. I would never have chosen that option any more than I would have chosen "beta." I make it a point not to install any OS ending in ".0" just for all of the quirks in new operating systems.
