changes I make to my Gmail account on my iMac do not appear on my iPhone. However, if you make a change on your iPhone to the same account, these changes do appear on your iMac.
I have tried restarting both devises after closing the apps down on both devices and the situation remains.
This has never happened before.

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We'll be happy to help with Mail. If you close the Mail app on your iPhone and open it again, does it refresh and show the same information? If this happens consistently, try removing that account from your iPhone and adding it back. Check Settings > Mail > Accounts > Fetch New Data. You probably want that Gmail account set to Fetch rather than Manual.
