can't delete apps, says it's open
I tried to delete the apps in launchpad and in finder. Either nothing happens or it says it can't delete because it's running. I tried to quit it in the activity monitor with no luck
Windows, Windows 6

Troubleshooting App Uninstalling:
A. Keep Items from Opening:
Remove Login Items, and these would open by default. Without being open, you will more likely be able to uninstall them.
B. Use an Uninstaller:
Some app require an uninstaller. If you don't use one, and if you just drag it into the trash, then files (i.e. caches and shortcuts)may be laying around the computer. Apps that require an uninstaller include MS Office and Security Software.
B. Close the App:
When uninstalling an app. Be certain it is closed.

You won't be able to delete apps required by macOS. If you are trying to delete an app that is not required by macOS, you have to quit the app first.
May I ask which apps you want to delete?

Those apps don't even seem to be Mac apps, except for Box. Internet Explorer for example is ancient.
Is there a Profile present in System Preferences?
The company laptop was returned, this is my laptop that I'm trying to remove everything related to my old job.
The applications don't work, but the icons and remnants are still there, it's an eyesore. I wish I let IT clean up my personal laptop before I left..
Hello,
There's a Globalprotect, Internet explorer and Box that was from old company. I no longer work there but now I can't remove them.
When you left that company, did they allow you to keep that Mac?
