Double pinch on series 8 watch

I have a Series 8 Watch, and prior to iOS 10, the double pinch option would dismiss a notification.

After downloading ios10, the option has changed to “go back one screen”.

How do I get the option to dismiss the notification with a double pinch, back?

Its quite frustrating that the instructions on the Watch still have Dismiss - double pinch, but the action doesn’t match.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities Bobzone,

If you're finding that a double-pinch gesture goes back one screen, you may have AssistiveTouch enabled as outlined here: Use AssistiveTouch on your Apple Watch. See below:

"Move back one item: Double pinch (Tap your pointer finger to your thumb twice quickly)"

You can use this guidance to double-check to see if it's on, and to turn it off if you wish:

"How to turn on AssistiveTouch on your Apple Watch

  1. Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.
  2. Tap Accessibility, then tap AssistiveTouch.
  3. Tap AssistiveTouch to turn it on, then tap OK to confirm. Or you can tap Try It Out to see a visual introduction."

For information about the gestures available on your Apple Watch, check out this page: Apple Watch gestures

We hope this helps!
