My iPad took an update today and it did not delete my files but it erased all the information on my recent spreadsheets. I save them to my iCloud. Is there any way to get the information back?

I saved the spreadsheet to my iCloud drive and then took the update. When the update was finished, I went back into the same spreadsheet and all the information was gone. I need to get it back.

For files that were synchronised with iCloud, you may be able to recover them:

Many Apps (such as the Numbers App) have a Recently Deleted folder. For those that do, you should be able to recover a deleted file.

For files that have been permanently deleted, or for those Apps that do not benefit from a Recently Deleted folder, recovery of deleted files from local storage is not possible. In such circumstances, you must rely upon restoring your data from your iCloud or iTunes backup - or any copies you may have made to external storage.

Always keep backup. Before performing a system software update, it is recommended that you update/refresh your backup. Should disaster strike, you have the means to recover.

FYI: It's a good idea to backup your information before an update.

Usually, iCloud information "repopulates" when it's missing, for whatever reason. If spreadsheets are missing, iCloud is supposed to return that information from the Cloud after a certain amount of time. The process varies between users - from seconds to several hours.

Before resetting or anything like that, let's first see the repopulation of data happens.
