Toshiba External HD
My toshiba external hard drive appears full up. I'd like to continue using it. What should I do?
MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.14
well if you format it it will be empty, but the data will be gone

when I've had such issues with timemachine I just deleted everything the first fresh backup is always a carbon copy of the whole thing so that just mean a new line was drawn in the sand so I can't go back further.

Might I perhaps just remove/delete the first few backups from years ago? That would make space.
Or perhaps I only really need the 3 most recent back ups?
