I have a number of iPhoto Libraries from 2009 or so which I'd like to open and use on my Ventura machine. How do I do that? I tried to open one by adding ".photolibrary" after the name [there was no other extension] but that didn't work. The message just says it can't open the library.
I do have an older Mojave machine if needed but was hoping I could do something with my regular machine.

Try this: Create a new empty Photos Library. Then from the menu choose File>Import and navigate to the folder that has your iPhotos Library and select it and go. I admit I haven't done this-- I have some old iPhotos libraries around someplace, so I should try it--but it's supposed to work! The extension for an iPhoto Library is ".photolibrary" that's different from ".photoslibrary" for Photos. Your computer may be set to not show extensions.
