WHAT FORMAT TO USE TO UPLOAD CONTACTS
i have an excel with email addresses I would like to add to my contact list. How can I do that?

Outside of manually adding them via the steps at Add or edit your contact info and photo on iPhone - Apple Support or importing them from an SD card with Import contacts from your SIM card to your iPhone - Apple Support, you would need to be able to export the data as a CSV file. Then once that file was opened on the iPhone, you could elect to import the contacts.
