Water damage on my iPhone 12

So I have an iPhone 12 Pro and my phone fell in the toilet upside down. I left it in dry rice overnight. Was that the right thing to do or what should I do next ??

NEVER put the phone in rice. Tiny rice particles.....hard to see....get into the ports and openings and expand, clogging things up and preventing water to drain.

Lean the phone against a wall at about a 45 degree angle with the ports on the bottom do the water can drain.

Let the phone dry out for at least 24 hours.

Does the phone power up and operate normally?
