You’re sharing an Apple ID. This ends badly. These texts are one of many things that will be intermixed among all devices sharing the Apple ID. You’re quite possibly sharing passwords, web histories, notifications, two-factor codes, and other details, for instance.
How to untangle this from some earlier threads, and how to set up Family Sharing:
Stop sharing Apple ID with wife - Apple Community
Set up Family Sharing - Apple Support

Got to settings, messages, scroll down to Text Message Forwarding and toggle off iPad. It’s happening because both devices are sharing the same Apple ID it appears and text forwarding on. Unless you’re trying to describe a different situation

No guarantees, but please try the following:
On your iPhone.......
Tap Settings > Messages > Send & Receive
Make sure that a check mark appears only next to your phone number
On your wife's iPhone......
Tap Settings > Messages > Send & Receive
Make sure that a check mark appears only next to your wife's phone number
Please report on your results
Stop sharing an Apple ID.
Apple IDs should never be shared, Your Wife should have her own Apple Id separate to yours.
