Cannot disable lock screen

My computer always locks the screen after a short period of inactivity. Eev with no screen saver and set to never go to sleep.

that will be a long time probing around trying to find the feature, which is NOT in plain sight.

System preferences > Security & Privacy > General

TOP item and its checkbox are what you seek.

Go into System Settings/Preferences, and look for Lock Screen or similar, then amend to your preference.
