Sharing photos between devices.

Trying to share photos between a wired iMac- iOS 12.6 with a wired apple- 4k TV. Both devices share the same modem and ISP.

Keep getting pop up “no libraries available”

Cannot use WiFi as signal is poor at iMac location.

We would like to see how we can help you sharing your photos. Follow the steps in this link and let us know if you run into the same issue: View photos from your Mac on Apple TV - Apple Support


  1. "On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Sharing.
  2. Make sure Home Sharing and Media Sharing are selected, then enter the Apple ID and password used to create your Home Share.
  3. Select “Share photos with Apple TV,” then click Choose.
  4. Click the “Share Photos from” pop-up menu and make sure your preferred photos app has a checkmark, then choose a folder to share.
  5. Choose whether you want to share all your photos and albums or just selected albums, then click OK.
  6. The photo albums or folders you share appear in the Computers app  on Apple TV."

Hello ausqld,


No, you should be able to share the photos between the devices. It might have something to do with your Mac settings, depending on the OS version you're running. The article that was previously shared with you, also gives that information. You could also make sure that you are not experiencing this due to a network issue like a VPN, blocked ports or filtering.
