@benjamin1990, if you happen to also own an iPad and/or iPhone: does it work there?
On my end, the Music library works and syncs fine on both iPad and iPhone; the problem is only on my Macbook Pro M1.
This happened to me, although I can see all my music; it just won't play. I have been an iTunes-to-Apple Music user since Day One, and have all my music on an external hard disk. My Apple Genius Bar Guru says she gets about 20 calls per day on it, but a fix is coming so she says.
I have exactly the same issue, right after I've updated to macOS Sonoma 14.1. Contacted Apple Support and they escalated it to the engineering team. They probably need diagnostics, screen recording and stuff and the senior advisor will contact me shortly about that.
I only see some playlists I've made myself in the past, but they are all empty. The one album I see is the free U2 album (which I don't even have in my own library anymore). Already tried syncing the music library, deauthorizing and authorizing the Mac in the Music app, logging out and back in but without any results.
I spent about an hour on the phone with tech support. We tried different options but nothing helped. They suggested reinstalling macos. I reinstalled and it didn't help. I'll call again on Monday
Same problem here. After installing 14.1, the Music app first didn't sync playlists any longer. Stupid me thought signing out in with my account would solve it.
Now I have the same problem like you: nothing from my music library shows up.
Super disappointed in this apparent lack of software quality checks.
That's great to hear that it works again!
Same here: This morning I gave it another shot after sign-out & sign-in everything came back after a couple of minutes. So strange that this was apparently a cloud hick-up, but only affecting MacOS.
Sorry that they made you t ago through the pain of re-installing MacOS. That was bad advice by tech support.
Same issue here; I tried synching yesterday, and it wiped out nearly everything on my phone except the U2 album. A few super-recent pieces also survived, and there was a "Recents" option somewhere (it's gone today) that listed everything I had had in the phone, but greyed out. When I clicked on a tune there, I got a message saying it was not allowed in my country or region. Today, even more is gone. Glad to hear I am buy no means the only one suffering from this, and I hope Apple fixes the issue quickly. I want to hear my tunes in the car again!
I also tried manually loading tunes into my phone; that also failed.
All (I think) of my music is loaded, but most is "unavailable" and won't play. I won't go into the nasty details, but I am a radio show host and it is a music show, so it is imperative that I have access to an organized music library. Apple Music is NOT THAT. iTunes was much, much, much...ad infinitum...better. ... that I have already paid for, that I own, that I need for my job?

I hope they'll fix it!
This morning it fixed itself. Everything works and new functions have appeared - you can rate tracks in playlists.
