After upgrade to iOS 17.1, Apple Music freezes and stops. I’ve tried streaming and downloading, different Wi-Fi and I’ve just restored to factory with basic setup, no transfer, straight into music and it does the same. iPad 6th generation. Everything else works, it’s just music. Subscriber to Apple Music. Anyone else seeing this or have suggestions please?
17.2 has fixed this (utterly annoying) issue.
I’m so sad to find this thread AFTER changing to Apple Music from Spotify. I convinced my kids they’ll be able to build their lists and libraries just like in Spotify and use it seamlessly (on their 6th gen iPad). Now I spent my afternoon to find out why this thing keeps collapsing randomly every 2 minutes and it took an enormous effort to hide my rage in front of my kids to avoid admitting this change was a big mistake. I really hope the fix comes soon.
By way of an update to my original question, this still isn't resolved. My 6th gen still randomly slows up when listening to music, it doesn't normally crash now (twice only), the screens lag terribly until it catches up. I'm using the 'latest' version, nothing installed but the basics and rebuilt from scratch. Still very disappointed in Apple having changed from Spotify during which I've never had these sort of issues at all. Anyone else still having issues?

Sorry, I spoke too soon. This worked temporarily but now it’s back to being frozen. I give up. Now I guess I have to wait for another upgrade that will fix this problem. I’m back to miserable again.
uurrgg. I changed to French and left it and music now doesn’t star, I get a black screen? It had an impact though. More testing.
Same problem since iOS 17.1. Using other Apple devices until next software update hoping soon.

This is ridiculous!! Update you Ipad & now music freezes. I talked for 2 hours with support & I knew more about how to reset my ipad than they did. How is this not an urgent fix for Apple ?
