Does telling Siri to like or dislike a song actually work for anyone?

When I say ...

"Hey Siri like this song" or "Hey Siri favorite this song" it will respond with ...

"OK, I told Apple Music that you liked this."

Or, when I say ...

"Hey Siri dislike this song" it will respond with ...

"OK, I told Apple Music that you disliked this song."

But it will not actually mark the song as a "Favorite" or "Suggest Less" in Apple Music.

It does not matter if I tell Siri on the HomePod that is playing the song. Regardless if the HomePod is playing Apple Music from a Siri Command like "Hey Siri play Billie Jean by Michael Jackson", "Hey Siri play my Apple Music station" or playing music started in a HomeKit Scene.

Or even if I press and hold the power button on my iPhone that is playing the song to fire up Siri. And say "Like this song."

It just gives the canned answers "I told Apple Music that you liked this." or "I told Apple Music that you disliked this song."

But DOES NOTHING! Nothing is Marked positively or negatively.

They changed the Siri response in iOS17.1. It used to reply something different prior to the update. So someone seems to think it should do something when told to .

Anyone else noticing the lack of action on Siri's part?

Or am I the only person on the planet with this issue?

I think Apple messed this all up with iOS 17/Sonoma and using Favorites instead of Like, Love, Dislike. I'm having a hekuva time with dozens of songs that were once Loved in my Mac music library being permanently attached to the Favorites playlist in iOS, even though I "Undo Favorite" for all those songs. Also, making an album a Favorite has no effect on individual songs within that album which each have to be made a Favorite individually. I don't think anything happens at all when I make an album a Favorite. The developers still have some work to do to fix all the bugs. I won't even start on Siri on HomePod. That's still the biggest mess there is.
