The most common cause is attempting to respond to threads that have been locked due to age or inactivity. Such threads will show this banner:
If there is another symptom you get, please elaborate.
I've been here 20+ years and have seen that few posters come back weeks or months later to look for new responses. Your time here is best spent on the newer, active posts, usually those in the first several pages of topic lists.

We are end users and cannot delete. You can contact the moderators for deletion but they usually need more cause than "the question is answered."
The Mods email address is in the the Terms of Use document near the end of Section A:
