Question

Music appears on my desktop but not on my iPhone after syncing in iTunes.

On the desktop, 2939 songs appear to be on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. when I finish syncing or applying the number drops to 1296. I just the music which has been on all of iphones and in my itunes since 2008. No subscriptions (or wanted or desired) as I already have paid for all of this music. I just want to listen my music like I did before this occurred. I have most all of the physical CDs on premises just for an occurrence such as this. I also have screenshots and photos of what is happening.

Are all the 2939 songs in your iTunes library on your desktop as well? If so, do have the sync entire music library option enabled? See step 3 in the 'Sync or remove content using iTunes' section of:

Use iTunes to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer - Apple Support

PS - you do not have to subscribe to Apple Music.

Yes, all of those songs are in my library on my desktop computer. When I sync my iPhone it displays that it’s going to sync all of the songs but the number of 2939 suddenly drops to 1296 & then completes the process.

I have screenshots as well. This song shows up in the playlist but I get the panel when I attempt to play it.
