Hi everyone and anyone who can help, I synced my iCloud account with my desktop and documents one my macOS 14.0 Sonoma and mistakenly deleted all the files on my desktop. I have been trying to recover the files but it keeps popping up that error. What do I do please?

Are the files still in the trash on your Mac? Return those to the original location.
Then they have been permanently deleted are will be irrecoverable. You'll need to restore from your backup.
I just got this laptop and didn't set up the Time Machine hence I don't think there is a backup anywhere. At some point I was recovering the deleted files from the iCloud website but after a while it ceased.
They are not in the local trash on my Mac and are not displaying in the recently deleted on iCloud
