Save iPhone passkey to Chrome not Possible

It seems that it is not possible to save an iPhone passkey to Chrome.

iPhone 11, iOS 17.0.3 (latest)

If you have Chrome selected in Settings > Passwords > Password options as the place to save your passwords/passkeys then you cannot create a passkey

While attempting to create a passkey the popup "Choose how to manage your passkeys" opens and clicking on Continue button does nothing.

It is also not possible to save a passkey in both iCloud and Chrome. Once you have a passkey saved in iCloud, there is no way to create another for Crome (with both iCloud and Chrome selected in Settings > Passwords > Password options.) If you have a passkey for a site in iCloud then trying to create one for Chrome will result in the "You already have a passkey on this device" because apparently Apple does not allow iPhone users to use chrome for saving or managing Passkeys at all.

I was trying to create a passkey for my Google Account.

Basically Apple is blocking the use of passkeys saved in chrome on iPhone. This monopolistic approach is irritating.
