Outlook mail server for an IMAP mail just stopped working. It keeps giving error "unable to login. check SMTP password error". The password input is correct and works on my iPhone and my windows device, only MacBook Air it stopped working. Anyone else has this problem? I submitted this to apple through feedback app and also to Microsoft help. No responses yet
A very late reply but I went in to the same problem just some week ago when I enabled MFA for my Outlook email account synced in Apple Mail.
The solution was to Delete the email syncing in Apple Mail settings and then add it again as an Microsoft Exchange and during the setup I got a MFA notification on the Microsoft Authenticator app on my iPhone, and after that it was done and no problems since.
