Hello Lawrence,
I think you didn’t understand. I OWN the official (the black one) Apple Thunderbolt 4 cord advised by Apple for the iPhone 15 Pro Max and THIS DOESN’T WORK TOO. The question is:
- Why this cord works at 40Gbps with EVERY other device EXCEPT with the iPhone 15 Pro Max (which works at 480Mbps; so USB 2 speed)?
- Why ALL my other certified (and expensive) Thunderbolt 4 cords work fine EXCEPT with the iPhone 15 Pro Max (which works at 480Mbps; so USB 2 speed)?
- Why cheap cords work fine with EVERY other device EXCEPT with the iPhone 15 Pro Max (which works at 480Mbps; so USB 2 speed)?
- Why this problem occurs ONLY when the iPhone is plugged to a computer (both Mac or PC) and NOT to an external SSD?
I went to an Apple Store; they tested my computers (Mac and PC) with my iPhone and other Apple products. We tested EVERY Apple cord from charging ones to Thunderbolt 4. NO ONE WORKED and they DON’T HAVE a solution. They told me to get in touch with their feedback service. It costed me time and money because I don’t have an Apple Store in my city for nothing.
During the last 4 months I tested my phone with ALL computers I found and the only one who worked was an Intel Mac from 2016.
A week ago, I bought a brand-new gaming computer and the iPhone doesn’t work too. It is not a cord problem in my case. It is a driver problem.
I figured out Apple didn’t update their drivers for Windows since 2006. 2006 was two years before USB 3 release and seven years before USB 3.1. They unable for some reasons to update their drivers or deliberately curb their devices.
I bought an iPhone 15 Pro Max 1TB especially for log profile, Apple Pro Res AND 10Gbps data transfer and I can’t use it because of Stone Age drivers and USB 2 max speed file transfer. I'm not going to wait a day (with crash risks) to transfer 1 hour of video.
I’m sorry, I would have liked to have a functional device that worked as expected and share good stories but, unfortunately, it’s not the case and so far no one has a solution.
