App Store doesn't auto update apps

Despite having auto updates turned on, I have to manually go into the App Store and download updates.

I noticed this a few years ago and it continues today. I have auto updates turned on, and to download over cellular data. If I wait a few weeks I'll have dozens of updates that I have to tap "update all" before any will download. Happens on both my iPhone (13 pro) and iPad.

I have to manually go into the App Store and check & install them. I’ve tried multiple things such as obviously making sure automatic downloads are on, making sure low power mode is off, be connected to strong Wi-Fi. Am I possibly missing anything?

Automatic app updates not working For a long time now I have apps that I will notice aren’t working correctly and I will have to manually update them, even though I have automatic updates on and notice other apps updating automatically by themselves. Yet I still have to constantly check apps as I notice problems because apps only automatically update randomly. My phone is up-to-date, I shut it off several times recently, and turned it back on, and I rarely leave my house anymore so I’m consistently on my home wifi network. This is getting super frustrating. Why have automatic updates if they aren’t actually going to automatically update?

Automatic Updates iPhone 11 IOS 16 I have all of the settings set for automatic updates. However when I check App Store. I can 10-15 apps sitting there waiting for me to do manual updates. I’ve turned the settings off and back on. Restarted phone and nothing changes. Why it this happening? This has been happening for quite some time. Not just after I upgraded to IOS16

Try and restart the devices to see if the issues persist

I have restarted the devices many times over the years and it persists. It has persisted through multiple device and OS updates.
